I absolutely LOVE halibut fishing!! One of the awesome locals here in King Cove lets us take his 20 ft boat whenever we want for free, how awesome huh? Dave Bash is one of the coolest guys around and he is definitely one of those 'you must get to know guys'. He rents boats, cars, four wheelers..you name it, he's got it. His is just such an awesome guy!!
Here is one of our fishing trips from a month ago.....

Gorgeous day! Here is looking at King Cove from the boat |
Travis is quite the fisherman and always score something good. After sometime it gets difficult for me to reel in the line especially when I get a halibut, boy they are fighters! So I only fish for a while then hangout the rest of the time. Travis is even gracious enough to let me reel in some of his halibut :)
When you pull a halibut onto the boat they flap EVERYWHERE! Their crazy! so you have to pull them in and try to hold it down while Travis beats it with a stick to kill it. The entire scenario is hilarious, we just have too much fun together, its always a good laugh and I'm glad I'm there to document the whole story.
We even caught an octopus!!!
This fishing trip was extremely special, since it was gorgeous outside! A rare day when there is no wind in King Cove or out on the ocean. We even went super far out it took an hour to get back to the Cove.

The water was glass & the colors of the sky were breathtaking |
Here one of the laborers out on our job, Sheridan. She's a spunky, die hard fisher woman! This crazy cat is always out fishing, she LOVES it!!
The far mountain in the back is a volcano, they says its only 30 miles away from King Cove. The mountains on the right is King Cove.
